Not a single member of
the Scheduled Castes went to Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha after independence.
Reservation in promotion should be implemented to move the society forward and bring Equality
VIJAYPUR : There has been a lot of agitation in the state for the last few days, so tommarow the BJP government has called an all-party meeting of Jammu and Kashmir in Delhi. In which the delimitation and assembly elections in the state of Jammu and Kashmir will be the main point. Before the same all-party meeting, Panther Party general secretary and former minister Yashpal Kundal organized a press conference and brought the Modi government's attention to the current situation in the state and said that the Modi government should restore statehood status before starting political activities in the state. Former Minister Yashpal Kundal said that the Modi government should first restore the status of the state, then after completing the process of delimitation, assembly elections should be held soon. The same Kundal, while drawing the attention of the Modi government to the people of the Scheduled Castes, said that since independence, the vote of the people of the SC community in Jammu state has reached 25 to 30 percent. But since independence, the people of the SC community have been ignored and not once was the MP seat reserved for the SC community neither for the Lok Sabha nor for the Rajya Sabha. Since 1996, till date the delimitation has not been implemented properly by the government of that time. Now the delimitation work is going on in the state. Therefore, we appeal to the Modi government that the MP seat should also be increased by doing the delimitation in the right way and in view of the vote percentage of the SC community, some seats should be reserved for the SC in the upcoming MP elections. On the other hand, Kundal said that reservation in promotion is applicable in the whole country but it has been stopped in the state of Jammu and Kashmir, which is directly linked with the SC society. Kundal said that the Supreme Court has also accepted that the states can give reservation in promotion. Kundal said that reservation in promotion should be implemented at least as much as the SC society deserves. SC society has always been a victim of expectations. Therefore, reservation in promotion should be implemented to move the society forward and bring equality. On the other hand, Kundal said that West Pakistani Refugios should also be given the right to vote in the assembly elections.
