Reviews progress of works under District Capex Budget 2021-22
JAMMU, JUNE 23: Deputy Commissioner Anshul Garg today chaired a meeting to review the progress made for providing care and protection to Covid affected families and children under SASCM/SAKSHAM scheme. He also reviewed progress on ongoing, new works proposed under District Capex Budget 2021-22 in another meeting.
A meeting of the District Level Task Force (DLTF) for providing care and protection to children affected by Covid-19 was held under the Chairmanship of Deputy Commissioner. The meeting discussed immediate compilation of the details of all deaths caused due to Covid-19, the children affected thereof and to identify children in need of care and protection,
The meeting reviewed the measures taken under the recently launched special assistance schemes for Covid moralities (SASCM/SAKSHAM) aimed to provide special financial assistance in the shape of pension and scholarship to those families who have lost their sole bread earners due to Covid pandemic.
During the meeting, the Deputy Commissioner directed the Child Welfare Committee to immediately take steps for the rehabilitation of children orphaned due to Covid-19 which may include Adoption, Foster care, Sponsorship etc.
The Deputy Commissioner directed to provide psychological and counselling support to such children and timely referral of children infected with Covid to treatment centers along with ensuring nutritional support during the post Covid period.
The Deputy Commissioner said that under the scheme, cash assistance of Rs 1000 per month will be provided to the spouse or the eldest member of the family. Apart from this, the scheme provides for the scholarship of Rs 20,000 per annum for the school going students and Rs 40,000 per annum for the college going students. A family in distress shall be eligible for the scholarship for two children, if they are not getting any other scholarship, he added.
Later , the Deputy Commissioner also reviewed the ongoing/new works under District Capex Budget 2021-22 including MGNREGA, 14 FC, PMAY, SBM, B2V.
The Deputy Commissioner emphasized that all the works must be completed in all aspects along with Geo-tagging of the works under MGNREGA.
He directed the concerned to complete the works under PMAY whose installment has been issued and also tender the allotted work under B2V without any further delay.
The Deputy Commissioner set the targets for all the BDOs and said that their performances will be assessed on the basis of achievement of these targets.
The meeting was attended by CPO Yoginder Katoch, District Social Welfare Office Ajay Salan, Chief Medical Officer JP Singh, Child Welfare Committee, Representatives of Seva Bharti Committee besides other senior officers of the concerned departments were present in thier respective meetings.
