Sets timeline for completion of development activities
POONCH, JUNE 24: District Development Commissioner Poonch, Inderjeet, today chaired a meeting to review the functioning of Rural Development Department (RDD).
During the meeting various issues were discussed which includes completion of PMAY(Gramin) houses, Aadhar seeding of MGNREGA workers, Aadhar based payments, Payment of MGNREGA wages, status of MGNREGA works, registration of contractors at Panchayat level, B2V3 works, progress regarding construction of bunkers and various other issues related to development works.
The meeting was informed that 88.90% Aadhar seeding of MGNREGA workers has been done. The DDC directed the BDOs to achieve the 100% seeding within 10 days. He further directed the BDOs to accelerate the process and pay the wages within the stipulated time frame as per the timely payment module. It was informed that 11% Aadhar based payments have been made. The DDC directed the BDOs to achieve the cent percent targets in one month in coordination with bank authorities.
The weekly target of completion of PMAY (Gramin) houses was also set for providing housing to all homeless villagers by March 2022. The DDC asked the Executive Engineer (REW) to complete the tendering of pending works of B2V3 in 3 days, besides allotment and completion of the same in one month. He further asked to issue tenders to complete pending works of incomplete bunkers in one week. The meeting also discussed the registration of contractors at Panchayat level. It was informed that as all the works under RDD sector are to be tendered as such impetus is being given to register at least 5 persons per Panchayat as D Class contractors and the registering authority in PWD was directed to furnish a weekly report in this regard.
The DDC impressed upon BDOs and executing agencies to accelerate the pace of work in their respective areas by adopting innovative methods.
The meeting was attended by ACD Poonch, ACP Poonch, Executive Engineer REW Poonch, all BDOs of District Poonch.
