The meeting was attended by Additional Deputy Commissioner, Mohammad Syed Khan; Assistant Commissioner Revenue, Viqar Giri; District Information Officer, Ateeksha Sethi besides media persons representing different print and electronic media highlighted different issues being faced by the media and general public of the District.
Detailed discussions were held to ensure better coordination between the district administration and media agencies to facilitate dissemination of factual information through media .
Suggestions were also sought from the media persons in addressing the various problems being faced by them in connection with the dissemination of developmental activities being carried out in the district.
While speaking on the occasion, the DC said that both the print and electronic media are playing a vital role in effective implementation of government welfare schemes and other activities. She said that journalists should be aware of welfare schemes and government programmes so that they can report anomalies effectively which will ultimately help the public at large. The DC further added that such types of media interactions will be conducted on a regular basis in future also.
The DC said that the objective of holding such interaction sessions is to ensure that the information regarding the various developmental activities in the district can be disseminated in an effective manner so that the benefit of different government schemes percolate down to the common masses.
During the interaction, the DC listened to the demands and issues of media persons and assured them all possible help from administration in this regard.
