During his day long tour, the Director also visited village Simblana of Block Sumb along with the revenue officers/officials comprising Tehsildar Samba and his team for identification of State land in for establishment of a Common Facility Centre (CFC) to give a boost to the Bamboo Craft and its products.
The revenue authorities were requested to demarcate the identified state land before its formal transfer to the Department for the purpose. The Director also visited village Katera and interacted with the village artisans besides distributing registration cards amongst the newly registered artisans. He urged the inhabitants associated with the crafts to get themselves registered with the Department for availing various incentives being extended by the Government for producing quality products besides their economic uplift.
On the return, he reviewed the functioning of the offices of Assistant Director Handicrafts and Assistant Director Handloom Samba and issued on spot instructions to both the officers to work with more zeal and enthusiasm for revival of Calico printing and other related crafts.
He advised the district Handicrafts and Handloom officers to speed up the registration of artisans and weavers and take effective steps for formation of cooperatives by gearing up their field functionaries to ensure that the benefits of various government schemes percolate to the deserving artisans and weavers.
