‘Number of active cases declining, vaccination for 18-44 age group launched’

REASI, JUNE 14: Deputy Commissioner, Reasi Charandeep Singh today said that the district administration has started House to House enumeration to identify unvaccinated persons and facilitate their inoculation.

Briefing the media about the scenario, he said the number of active cases continue to decline in the district while vaccination of age appropriate persons has also shown a good coverage.

Referring to the district administration’s initiative to reach out the public, he said the public grievance redress campaign - REASI BEEPS -BEAT THE PANDEMIC has received an overwhelming response and the same will be scheduled as live interaction from tomorrow.

He said with significant improvement observed in the district has paved the way for more relaxations and appealed people to maintain and continue to follow Covid appropriate behaviours and avoid visiting markets unnecessarily. 

Charandeep Singh said that the Covid situation in the district has  gradually improved with recovery rate touching 97% mark, positivity rate dropping to 1.16 pc  and the number of active cases reducing to 153.

In view of this significant improvement in the district, the State Executive Committee has granted more relaxations in the district and in compliance to that further relaxation have been given, including the opening of shops for five days a week.

 On status of vaccination, the DC said intensive vaccination drive is on and House to House enumeration to ascertain the leftover unvaccinated population has been started in the entire district. He further said that special vaccination drive has been initiated for high risk groups of 18-45 yrs age, for which six special sites have identified in the district.

While discussing about water and Electricity issues, the DC said that special helplines have been notified to receive distress calls. On power cuts, the DC said the curtailment timings have already been issued for the convenience of the people. He further informed that special teams have been constituted at subdivision level to report on unscheduled power cuts and for initiating immediate remedy.

The DC further said that on receiving positive public response, the initiative REASI BEEPS-BEAT THE PANDEMIC has been further improved and now the phone calls will be held with live interaction with district officers for immediate redress of public grievances.
