DC, Directors of allied deppts seek cooperation of PRIs in effective implementation of intervention progs
REASI, JUNE 11: Deputy Commissioner Reasi Charandeep Singh along with Directors of Agriculture and allied departments today participated in the Kissan Mela held at Mahore.
The Mela was attended by Director Horticulture Ram Sevak; Director Agriculture K.K Sharma; Director Animal Husbandry Vivek Sharma and Director Sheep Husbandry, Krishan Lal and Director Fisheries Abdul Hamid Bhatt, besides district and sectoral officers associated with the farming and rural uplift.
The DDC Members of Mahore and Chasana, SDM Dharmari, Tehsildars, BDOs were also present.
Earlier, the DC along with Directors also inspected the stalls set up by the different departments to disseminate information about the welfare schemes and innovative farming techniques for which small booklets, pamphlets and banners were also displayed and distributed among the PRIs and local people.
Speaking on the occasion, the Deputy Commissioner said that Kisan Mela has been organized to create awareness among the farmers about latest horticulture and agriculture techniques, tools and to motivate them to avail benefits of the government schemes meant for boosting the agriculture and horticulture production.
The DC also directed the officers to educate the farmers about all the schemes of their departments and take robust initiatives on the ground. He emphasized for promoting Public Private Partnership (PPP) and Farmer Producers Organizations (FPO).
The directors of various departments while interacting with local people educated them on major schemes of their departments and assured them all necessary support in growing crops and fruits and rearing animals through modern techniques.
Meanwhile, locals demanded completion of PMGSY roads, school buildings, health, ration, bridges, PMAY-G houses, construction of culverts, mining, road maintenance by GRIF, languishing projects, booking of funds in central stores by PWD, opening of dairy and poultry units etc.
The event was also followed by a meeting at Conference hall in which several issues of local people were discussed threadbare.
