Evening, door to door vaccination drives witnesses immense response across district
KULGAM, JUNE 11: The District Administration is rigorously conducting Covid vaccination drive across the district and has administered more than one lac doses to the eligible population so far stated the Deputy Commissioner Kulgam, Dr. Bilal Mohi-Ud-Din-Bhat during a presser at mini-secretariat here.
To achieve a cent percent target in vaccination, an intensive vaccination drive has been launched across the district besides the number of vaccination sites was also increased for the convenience of people, he added.
The DC said that they have also started door to door and evening vaccination drives across the district, and this initiative picked up well and has witnessed immense public response across the district.
He said the district administration is close to achieving the target of cent percent inoculations of the age group of above 45 years.
To vaccinate ST and migratory population in district mobile vaccination teams have been deployed in the service added the DC.
While briefing about the current Covid-19 situation in the district, Dr Bilal said the district witnessed a visible decline in Covid positive cases and increase in recovery rate. He however said that there is a need to continue to follow Covid Appropriate Behaviour with more responsibility amid ease in restrictions.
He said the strict implementation of guidelines led to decrease in positivity rate and recovery rate reached above 90 percent.
He also urged the general public to adopt social distance, wearing proper masks, and maintaining hand hygiene to keep themselves, family and the whole surrounding safe from Covid-19 infection.
