The activities along with awareness programmes were held under the supervision of District Child Protection officer Gulshan Kumar, which included inspection by District Level Child Labour Task Force in collaboration with District Legal Services Authority in the market of Katra and Reasi to check any malicious child labour activity.
Awareness about the evils of child labour was also created among the shopkeepers, drivers, general public and others.
District Child Protection unit along with Secretary, District Legal Services Authority visited DISHA Home Child Protection where the masks, sanitisers and stationery items were distributed among the inmates. The inmates of Disha home were also counselled about the World anti-labour day.
The team also visited slum areas where the families were made aware about the hazardous effect on the mind of children forced into labour.
Ration, masks and sanitisers were also presented to the children and their families.
