At the outset, a thorough discussion regarding Flag hoisting, seating arrangements as per Covid-19 protocol, Shahnai Wadan, presentation of cultural programmes, parade, security arrangement and award presentation was held.
The DC emphasized upon the concerned officers present in the meeting to make sure Flag hoisting at every Panchayat Ghar of the district besides other Government buildings. He also stressed for ensuring cent percent vaccination of 18-44 years of age group ahead of Independence Day Celebrations.
He emphasized the establishment of Youth Clubs and involvement of Youth in these Clubs. He also exhorted for completion of all the under construction and on-going works well before the fixed time.
It was given out in the meeting that the main function will be held at District Police Lines Shopian, followed by March past comprising the contingents of CRPF, JKP, Fire and Emergency Services and Forest Protection Forces.
The DDC directed the officials to ensure adequate security arrangements, illumination of Govt Buildings, parking facilities and proper seating arrangements at the venue besides ensuring uninterrupted power and water supply.
He directed the officers to put in place all the necessary arrangements well in advance and coordinate with each other for the smooth functioning of Independence Day function.
He also directed the Health department to set up an adequate number of medical camps with proper staff, ambulance and Medicare facilities at the venues besides the officials of Municipal Corporation were directed to maintain cleanliness in and around District Police Lines, roads, and streets in the town.
It was also decided that the celebration of Independence Day shall also be held at Sub-Divisional Level, and in this regard concerned were directed to ensure celebration of the event at their respective headquarters and l take necessary steps to make the programme successful.
Among others, Assistant Commissioner, Revenue, Shahbaz Ahmed Bodha, Chief Educational Officer, Executive Engineers of R&B, PHE, PDD, DYSSO, CMO, besides all District and Sectoral Officers and other concerned were present in the meeting.
It was also decided that a full dress rehearsal shall be held on August 13th 2021 at DPL Shopian.
