DC hands over ICPS Scholarship Sanction Letters to 10 beneficiaries
POONCH, JULY 08: District Administration Poonch today organised an awareness programme under the aegis of Nasha Mukt Bharat at tehsil Mandi under the chairmanship of Deputy Commissioner, Inder Jeet.
The programme was attended by Project Officer, ICDS, Dr. Mohammad Tanveer, Tehsildar Mandi, Shazad Khan, District Social Welfare Officer, Shakeel Ahmed, Tehsil social welfare officer, Azam Rather besides concerned officers.
A colourful cultural programme was also presented on the occasion.
Deputy Commissioner said that the objective of the programme was to encourage community participation in the fight against drugs and to sensitize the section of society which is more vulnerable to drug abuse.
Meanwhile, the DC handed over 10 Scholarship Sanction Letters to the orphan children under Integrated Child Protection Scheme (ICPS) under which they shall be provided financial assistance of Rs.2000/month/child until they attain 18 year age.
Besides, 15 hearing aid and 10 walking sticks were distributed among the needy.
