The scheme facilitates the youth to establish a sustainable livelihood line in the transport sector by providing financial assistance for purchase of new small commercial vehicles.
Assistant Director Employment Udhampur (Nodal Officer), Pradyot Gupta, Sanjeev Sharma (Cluster Head J&K Bank) were among several other officers who attended the inaugural ceremony.
The beneficiaries have been cleared by District Level Implementing Committee (DLIC) after they along with others applied for availing the benefits of the scheme. The committee has approved a total 30 cases in the district and the rest will be provided the vehicles of their choice in due course of time.
At the inaugural ceremony, the Deputy Commissioner handed over the keys to 10 beneficiaries out of which (04) beneficiaries availed small commercial vehicles of Ashoka Leyland & (06) beneficiaries availed small commercial vehicles of Tata.
The applicant will have the full liberty to choose any small commercial vehicle of any approved models/makes of his/her choice under “MUMKIN” Scheme. The Mission Youth, J&K shall provide an amount of Rs.80000/ or 10% of on-road price of the vehicle (whichever is less) as upfront subsidy. The vehicle manufacturer shall also provide an upfront special discount, not less than the amount of subsidy. The banking partner shall extend the loan facility to the extent of 100% of the on-road price of the vehicle to be purchased without asking for any collateral security.
