Calls for timely completion of works taken up under different schemes

RAJOURI, JULY 27: District Development Commissioner Rajouri, Rajesh K Shavan today reviewed the performance of the Rural Development Department under various schemes, here at a meeting of the concerned officers held in the Conference Hall of the PWD Dak Bungalow.

Among the others, the meeting was attended by ADDC, Pawan Kumar; SE PWD, Javaid Maqbool; SE Jal Shakti Department, JP Singh; ACD, Sushil Khajuria; ExEn REW, Noor Ali and BDOs.

The DC reviewed the status of geo-tagging of assets, estimation of works approved under District Capex Budget, registration of 'B' class contractors for Panchayat level works, progress on water conservation-related works, payments under PMAY and MGNREGA, identification of abandoned Government buildings.

He laid stress on expediting the Geo-tagging of all the assets, besides   estimation of the works approved under the District Capex Budget within twelve days.

Stress was also laid on early completion of  registration of ‘B' class contractors for Panchayat level works to expedite the development works in rural areas. He further stressed on timely payments under PMAY and MGNREGA, and early execution of works related to water conservation in every block. He also asked the concerned officers to generate massive awareness among the masses about the importance of water conservation and judicious use of this invaluable gift of nature.

Stressing on strict enforcement of COVID safety protocols, the District Development Commissioner directed the concerned officers to further intensify checking in their respective jurisdictions and take stern action against the violators.

The ACD was directed to set up a grievances redressal cell at his office where the public could register their complaints about RDD and ensure the disposal of all the genuine public concerns in a time-bound manner.

The District Development Commissioner also asked the concerned officers to identify the abandoned Government buildings in their jurisdictions which need minor repairs and submit the report in this regard within three days. He also asked the concerned officers to take the assistance of the Lok Mitras in achieving their targets.
