JKRLM assists Bandipora women SHGs to save more than Rs 4 crore

SRINAGAR, JULY 28: Mission Director, Jammu & Kashmir Rural Livelihoods Mission (JKRLM), Dr. Syed Sehrish Asgar today chaired a meeting to review the blockwise progress of rural livelihood mission in district Bandipora and took stock of physical and financial achievements of Mission in the district.

It was given out in the meeting that the women SHGs under the mission have been credit linked with the banks for capital infusion enabling them the internal saving of Rs 4.36 crores.

On the occasion Dr Sehrish stressed upon the officers to focus on strengthening the systems at all levels besides social inclusion of all the eligible beneficiaries. She encouraged for making concerted efforts towards attaining the sustainability of the community institutions.

Dr Sehrish impressed upon the officers for deepening livelihood interventions, fostering regular coordination with various line departments towards collective realisation of the aspirational goals.

The MD directed the BPMs to complete the Aadhar seeding process in due course of time and enroll all SHG members under social security schemes including PMSBY, PMJJBY.

The MD further directed the BPMs to identify the SHG members who can be engaged as DIGI Pay Sakhi's so that they can provide door to door banking as well as non-banking facilities to the SHG members in the district.

While informing the meeting about  progress made in blocks, the officials apprised that so far 16546 Rural women have been federated into 1769 SHGs in the district and an amount of Rs 5.23 crores have been provided to the SHGs as capitilization from the Mission .

It was given out that in addition ,the SHGs have been credit linked with the Banks to the tune of Rs 17.22 crores and the internal saving of Rs 4.36 crores to the SHG members.

Further the BPMs apprised the chair about various activities being undertaken by the SHG members in the District who have invested the amount in different livelihoods like walnut processing, Mushroom cultivation, Handicrafts, Handlooms, Carpet weaving.

The meeting was attended by Additional Mission Director, Kashmir Sajid Yahaya Naqash, District Programme Mangers, Block Programme Mangers, MIS Assistants of District Bandipora and other officials of the Mission.
