On the direction of the Deputy Commissioner, a team led by Additional Deputy Commissioner Suram Chand Sharma, visited Panchayat Mananu and adjoining areas and assessed the overall situation emerged due to overnight rains. The ADC issued immediate relief in the shape of tents, ration, tarpaulin, utensils, mattresses, first aids, besides directed executive engineer flood control to immediately deploy multiple dewatering pumps and desilting of adjoining river channels.
“We have assessed the situation on the ground and necessary directions for putting up relief cases of public affected due to floods are also issued to concerned revenue officials” said the ADC. The Executive Engineer has been directed to deploy men and machinery in the area and ensure protection and restoration of the river channel banks, added the ADC Samba.
District administration Samba has also set up a district emergency control room with contact 01923-246915 & 01923-241004, providing 24x7 assistance.
