ANANTNAG, JULY 29: The Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADC) Anantnag, Ghulam Hassan Sheikh today directed the concerned officers to work in synergy and coordination under a viable mechanism to facilitate smooth observance of Muharram ul Haram celebrations. 

He passed these directions in a meeting convened here to review the arrangements being put in place for the upcoming month of Muharram. 

During the meeting, thorough deliberations to fine tune and give final touch to the preparations made for conducting various religious activities in the Holy month were held. 

Addressing the meeting, the ADC exhorted for making efforts in advance to ensure the devotees do not face any inconvenience during these days. 

Sheikh passed directions for provision of proper power and water supply besides adequate ration in respective areas.  

He impressed the authorities to ensure cleanliness and sanitation in and around Imam Baras, shrines and masjids. Health authorities were directed to keep requiste number of ambulances in ready gear and also make essential and immunity boosting medicines available to the devotees. 

The ADC also called for intensifying the market checking drives for ensuring the govt rates and quality standards for food and other items are adhered to.

Interacting with the religious leaders, the ADC appealed them to aware people about the need and importance of Covid SOPs especially at gatherings. 

On the occasion, representatives of the religious organisations raised certain issues with regard to Muharram celebrations. ADC assured them full support from the administration and also issued on spot instructions to the sectoral officers to ensure immediate and time bound reddressal of their grievances.

The meeting was attended by CMO, ARTO, DySP Hq, AD FCSCA, officers of PHE, PDD and other concerned sectors besides the representatives of religious organisations.
