DC felicitates War veterans, Veer Naris, Veerangnas; salutes valour, indomitable courage of war heroes

Ceremonial welcome, presentation of Citations, Mementos, National Anthem recitation mark the event

REASI, AUGUST 14: As part of ongoing Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav, Deputy Commissioner Reasi, Charandeep Singh today felicitated war Veterans and Veer Naris .

The felicitation programme started with the extension of a warm welcome and cheering of war heroes with huge round of  applause by DC along with all the District officers. Ceremonial welcome, presentation of Citations and Mementos, National Anthem recitation marked the felicitation ceremony.   

The DC felicitated 3 Veer Naris, Robin Kour mother of Spr Sukwinder Singh, Sito Devi wife of NK Rattan Lal, Prakasho Devi wife of Sepoy Chain Singh.

 35 War veterans were also felicitated. These were H Capt Baldev Singh, H Capt Rashpal Singh, H Capt Baldev Singh, Capt Puran Singh ,Capt Rashpal Singh, Sub Lal Singh, Sub Pritam Singh, Hav Gulam Rasool, Hav Jagdev Singh, Hav Kartar Singh, Hav Mulkh Raj, Hav Raghunandan Das, Hav Shashi Slotra, NK Ajay Kumar, NK Ajay Sharma, NK Manjit Singh, NK Ravinder Kumar, NK Romail Singh, Sepoy Ajit Singh, Sepoy Amit Sharma, Sepoy Amit Sharma, Sepoy Angrez Singh, Sepoy Ashok Singh, Sepoy Balbir Singh, Sepoy Brahm Kumar, Sepoy Ganesh Bhati , Sepoy Ganesh Chander, Sepoy Jagdish Singh, Sepoy Kartar Singh, Sepoy Lahar Singh, Sepoy Raj Kumar, Sepoy Rakesh Kumar, Sepoy Ram Chand, Sepoy Sat Pal, Sepoy Suraj Parkash and Sepoy Veer Singh.

Brigadier Sukhveer Singh, Zila Sainik welfare officer,  was also felicitated by DC. He expressed gratitude to the District Administration for organising felicitation ceremony for war heroes.

Paying tributes to war heroes and respect to veer Naris and war veterans, the DC said it’s an emotional moment to remember Veer Martyrs who sacrificed their lives while protecting the Nation. ‘Because of them, we are safe, I salute to all those heroes” he added. He also thanked the invited guests of attending the felicitation ceremony.  He assured every possible support to the war veterans and  announced early renovation of the Sainik  Sarai.
