Azadi Ka Amrut Mahotsav - Floriculture Deptt organises cleanliness, plantation drive

JAMMU, AUGUST 11: As part of ongoing "Azadi Ka Amrut Mahotsav", a Cleanliness and Plantation drive "Clean and Green Environment" was organised by the Directorate of Floriculture Parks and Gardens.

 The event witnessed the participation of all the officers of the Department led by S. Jatinder Singh, Director Floriculture, Parks & Gardens Jammu. Prominent among those present were Deputy Director Jammu, Deputy Director (Planning) Executive Engineer, Floriculture Office Jammu, Floriculture Office (HQ), Accounts Officer, AEEs & AFOs besides other concerned officers of the Department.

The Director urged the employees of the Department to celebrate 75th year of Indian Independence with full dedication, enthusiasm to make it a remarkable and memorable moment.

The premises of the Directorate were thoroughly cleaned by the officers as well as the junior staff of the Department.

After the Cleanliness drive the Plantation drive was also carried out by the officers/employees of the Directorate in Green Belt Park at Gandhi Nagar

More than 100 saplings of flowering plants were planted.

On the request of the Principal, the Department also planted saplings of Bougainvillea, Jatropa, China Rose, Chandani, Aclepha Neem and Mango plants in the premises of Government Girls Higher Secondary School Bazar Qasaban Gujjar Nagar Jammu. The Principal, staff members and the students of the school were present and participated in the plantation drive.

  The function concluded with the pledge to continue such drives in future also.
