Through this initiative, children were introduced to the magic of stories through different story telling techniques using props, puppets, gestures and voice modulations.
Purpose of the event was to strengthen foundational literacy skills among students of 5 to 9 years of age. These story sessions involved a lot of literacy activities and follow up tasks for enhancing basic reading, writing and listening skills of the children.
Spanning over 5 Saturdays of July and August, this story session series was conducted by expert resource persons of Eduweave foundation and children showed overwhelming response to the events.
These sessions were joined in great numbers by students and teachers and they requested authorities to make such practices an integral part of the teaching learning process in schools.
The last episode of the series that started on 10th of July 2021 was organised today and turned out to be a delight for all. Amita Kausik and Anandi Tokas, resource persons of the day from Eduweave foundation mesmerised children by their excellent story telling. Children could relate to the characters of the story and were quick to come up with their beautiful drawings based on the story.
The event was organised under the supervision of Mamta Sharma, Deputy Director ( Planning), DSEJ and was coordinated by Ms. Jaswinder Kour, Coordinator, DRC for Pre-primary Education, Jammu and her team.
