SRINAGAR, AUGUST 14: Jammu & Kashmir Trade Promotion Organization (JKTPO) under aegis of Department of Industries of Commerce, moves to the next step on their initiative called “HAUSLA”. A programme that will help women entrepreneurs of J&K to overcome financial, legal, social and marketing challenges in their business ventures.
The programme will enable and empower women entrepreneurs with wider outreach and visibility for their products and services. The initiative was launched by Lt. Governor, Shri Manoj Sinha on 29th June 2021 at SKICC Srinagar.
The online orientation ceremony was for the 1st batch of 118 selected women entrepreneurs from J&K who are running their own enterprises, the program is supported by and partnered with India SME Forum, Ni-MSME & Mission Youth J&K as program partners, J&K Bank as financial partner and Flipkart as e-Commerce partner.
Principal Secretary Industries and Commerce, Ranjan Prakash Thakur who was chief guest on the occasion said “the positive environment in favor of women entrepreneurs has been the department’s focus and ‘Hausla’ will further keep empowering & providing them with more opportunities to spread their wings in their entrepreneurship journey. I further ensure all my support to the women entrepreneurs of J&K”
Managing Director, JKTPO, Ms. Ankita Kar in her welcome address said “Hausla is a tailored program to address the challenges faced by our Women entrepreneurs of J&K. The programme will surely create role models who will inspire generations to come”
Ms. Kar also congratulated the selected women entrepreneurs and welcomed them to the Hausla family.
Ms. Sushma Morthania, Director General, India SME Forum, Mentoring partner briefed the batch about the programme layout/format and Schedule. She underscored the importance of 3Ms for entrepreneurs- Money, Market and Mentorship which are very well taken into consideration while designing the programme.
Besides these officials the ceremony was graced by Mr. Prahlad Kakar, Chairman, India SME Forum, Mrs. Glory Swarupa, DG, NI-MSME, Mr. Shareesh Sharma, Zonal Head, J&K Bank, Dr. J.S. Juneja, Vice Chairman, India SME Forum & Former CMD, NSIC and Mr. Tushar Mukherjee, Director, Flipkart
The initiative will have a comprehensive schedule which will include training of 27 hours spread over 9 weeks, special sessions and 6 hours mentoring for 50 women who will be selected based on assessment and evaluation throughout the training.
