A two-year-old child was killed and six people, including a BJP leader were injured after suspected terrorists lobbed a grenade at their residence in Rajouri town’s Khandli Bridge Chowk on Thursday night.
Deputy Commissioner Rajouri, Rajesh Kumar Shavan handed over an ex gratia of Rs 1 Lakh to the grandfather of the two-year-old child, who was killed in the attack. Seventy-five thousand rupees each were also given to two critically injured, while Rs 5 thousand each were given to 5 persons who sustained minor injuries.
As per the directions of the Office of Hon’ble Lieutenant Governor, J&K; two critically injured persons were airlifted on Friday and admitted in Military Hospital Udhampur.
The Div Com and ADGP assured full support to the family from Divisional as well district administration.
The Div Com and ADGP also visited the Government Medical College Hospital (Rajouri) to know about the condition of the critically injured person. They assured the family of the injured of all the possible support from the administration.
Later, the Div Com also inspected the Oxygen generation plant in the hospital. He also inspected other health facilities and the latest medical equipment and infrastructure installed at GMC&AH. Principal Government Medical College and Medical Superintendent Associate Hospital were also present.
The Div Com and ADGP were accompanied by Deputy Commissioner Rajouri, Rajesh Kumar shaved, DIG Rajouri Poonch Range, Vivek Gupta, SSP, Sheema Nabi.
Vice-chairman DDC Shabir Khan, Ward Councillor, Rajesh Gupta and Sanjay Sharma besides other prominent citizens were present at the site of the grenade attack and also interacted with Div Com.
