JAMMU, OCTOBER 31: Jammu Municipal Corporation(JMC) and Food Safety Department today conducted a joint market inspection to check the quality of food and edible products like milk and milk products, sweets, khoya, meat, chicken, fruits and vegetables  in view of the ongoing festive season.

During the drive, the markets in Ambphalla, New Plot, Sarwal, Rehari and other areas of Jammu city were inspected. Around 20 samples of  milk and milk products , sweets and other edible products were lifted for further analysis as per food safety standards. Fine/ penalties to the tune of Rs 16700 were imposed on the defaulters for unhygienic and insanitary conditions in their shops and establishments.
