SAMBA, OCTOBER 30: To create awareness among the tribal population on holistic nourishment under the aegis of Poshan Abhiyan programme, an awareness camp was today organised by Directorate of National Health Mission in collaboration with District Information Centre, Samba and Tribal affairs department, for the tribal habitants of Nud.
POSHAN Abhiyaan is a multi-departmental convergence mission with the vision to ensure attainment of malnutrition free India by 2022. The objective of POSHAN Abhiyaan is to reduce stunting in identified Districts with the highest malnutrition burden by improving utilization of key departmental services. The programme aims to ensure holistic development and adequate nutrition for pregnant women, mothers and children.
The Tribal population gathered at the High school of the area witnessed Nukkad Nataks, cultural programme and songs on Poshan Abhiyan. The programme was conducted by artists Ajit Sharma, Ravi Dutta and others from New Sargam social & cultural club. The audiences applaud efforts of the Government and artists for the impactful initiative taken by NHM J&K, Tribal dept and DIPR for educating their population.
The programme was attended by District Development Council member Kartar Chand, BMO Nud Anju Devi, District Information Officer Ajay Sharma besides Principal High School Nud, Sarpanches, Panches, students and local tribal population were also present.
