Takes stock of issues, concerns of PRIs, delegations
PULWAMA, NOVEMBER 20:- Advisor to Lieutenant Governor, Farooq Khan, today visited Pulwama district and convened a meeting with representatives of Panchayati Raj Institutions (PRIs) and district administration besides meeting various delegations.
Advisor met several delegations of PRI members, Farmers’ Associations, Horticulture and Industrial Association besides Tribal Affairs and local Trader Associations and listened to their demands and grievances.
The delegations put forth various demands and problems related to development and welfare of their respective areas seeking an early redressal to the same. Their issues included honorarium to PRIs besides their security, office accommodation, transport facility and one computer set, shortage of staff in various departments, power supply during harsh winters, maternity hospital, completion of second phase of Circular Road, Ayush Hospital, MRI machine at DH Pulwama, Vegetable Mandi, high tech polyhouses, Kissan Bhawan, widening of link road from Sangam to Lassipora, solid waste management, health centre at IGC Lassipora, Gujjar and Bakerwall Hostel at Tral, Irrigation facility for karewas and related concerns.
Advisor, while responding to the issues raised by the delegations, assured them of timely resolution of their genuine grievances.
Advisor laid stress on need for further strengthening coordination level between PRIs and the district administration for effective and timely execution of all development works.
Advisor Khan also reviewed the functioning of various government departments in the district and directed the officers not to compromise on the quality of works while ensuring timely completion of the same.
Earlier, Advisor visited fruit mandi Prichoo and inaugurated fruit growers office in presence of DDC Chairman, DDC Pulwama, Director General Horticulture, Director Agriculture and other senior officers.
The fruit growers association apprised the Advisor of their issues related to developmental infrastructure in the fruit mandi, allotment of shops, widening of approaching roads and related matters.
Advisor directed the concerned officers to ensure that the issues raised by the Association are resolved at the earliest.
Deputy Commissioner, Pulwama, Baseer ul Haq Choudhary informed the Advisor about the development and welfare schemes being implemented in the district by different departments and agencies.
