Stresses on strict adherence to CAB, focused Sampling

BANDIPORA, NOVEMBER 10: The Deputy Commissioner (DC) Bandipora, Dr Owais Ahmad on Tuesday chaired a meeting to review the covid control measures, sampling and status of vaccination process.

The meeting discussed threadbare issues related to the pandemic. It was given out that there are 40 active positive cases as on date out of which only one is under hospital supervision.

Officers informed that vaccination process is in full swing and 55 percent second doses have been provided so far while first doses to eligible population has already been completed.

Dr Owais stressed on extensive sampling in the district especially at crowded places including markets etc. He also laid stress on effective measures on covid control including sampling, contact tracing and other preventive measures.

He said the extensive sampling and subsequent isolation of positive cases will help to control the spread of virus in containment zones.

He said the graph can go down if people continue to follow CAB and get vaccinated as soon as possible. He said even if the vaccinate person contracts the virus, the symptoms are mild as compared to unvaccinated person. He urged the people to get vaccinated and those who have pending second dose should go for same at earliest.

Dr Owais said the CAB and SOPs are vital to prevent any spike in infections and cautioned against any complacency on part of the stakeholders so that the virus is kept at bay and its spread is curtailed further.

He appealed to the people not to lower guard and asked them to follow guidelines so that administration is not forced to take action against violators.

The meeting was attended by Chief Medical Officer Bandipora, Medical Superintendent DH Bandipora, Police and other civil officers.
