DC Doda reviews registration of unorganised workers on e-SHRAM Portal

DODA, NOVEMBER 01: Deputy Commissioner (DC) Doda, Vikas Sharma today chaired a meeting to review the registration of unorganised workers on National Database for Unorganized Workers (NDUW)-e-SHRAM portal in the district.

The DC was apprised by Assistant Labour Commissioner Doda that 2400 unorganized workers have been registered in the district so far.

The registered unorganized workers belong to different categories which include ASHA workers, Anganwadi workers & Helpers, Auto Drivers/cleaners, Street Vendors, Small Shopkeepers, Cobblers, Carpenters, Milkmen, Domestic workers etc.

On the occasion, the DC directed the officers of all the departments to register the daily wagers associated with their respective departments on e-Shram portal including that of Asha workers, Anganwari workers, Drivers/ Cleaners etc.

The DDC further asked the ALC to issue the literature of the scheme to the concerned departments for awareness and fix targets of every department having daily wager employees, for registration on the portal.

He directed the concerned officers to work in close coordination to mobilise the target sub-groups of unorganised workers like MGNREGA workers, SHG members under NRLM and NULM, street vendors, Auto drivers, construction (BOCW) workers, mid-day meal workers, domestic workers, ASHA workers, Anganwadi workers, Agricultural labourers and Fishermen through respective line departments for registration under e-SHRAM in terms of defined targets.

E- Shram portal has been launched by the Govt of India for registration of unorganised workers free of cost by themselves or through Common Services Centres. The registration will enable unorganised workers to avail various social security schemes. The unorganised workers within age group 16 to 59 years registered on the portal shall be eligible to get automatic 2 lakh accidental insurance and 1 lakh insurance on partial disability.

The DC emphasised on holding awareness and registration camps across the district and at CSC level.

He further stressed on involving PRIs, NGOs and Youth Clubs in dissemination of information and awareness in rural areas.

The meeting was attended by PO ICDS Doda, CPO Doda, DEPO Doda, CAO, CHO, DIO, EO MC Doda, EO MC Bhaderwah, TSWO Thathri, representatives of health, RDD & NIC and District Coordinator CSC, besides other officials of the concerned departments were also present during the meeting.
