Programme witnesses immense public response
KULGAM, NOVEMBER 10: Taking governance at the door steps of public and to get first hand appraisal of grievances, issues and demands of people living in Qaimoo, Redwani Bala, Redwani Payeen, Hawoora and other adjoining villages of the area, the Deputy Commissioner (DC) Kulgam, Dr Bilal Mohi-Ud-Din Bhat today visited Redwani area and held a grievance redressal camp here.
The DC was accompanied by SSP Kulgam, Dr.G.V Sandeep and other officers.
During the day long grievance redressal camp, locals and PRI members called upon the DC and flagged off various demands and issues for disposal.
A delegation from Qaimoo highlighted various issues and demands of their area including establishment of Fire and Emergency station, widening of Wazirpora road, establishment of Degree College, ATM for Qaimoo, establishment of Treasury office and augmentation of staff in hospital etc.
People from Redwani demanded widening and Development of Playfields, widening and macadamisation of roads, transformer for Sheikh Mohalla, de-silting of Mav khul, upgradation of Middle School, Pathwar khana at Redwani, Devlopment of Chinar Park besides others.
People from other areas also put forth various issues and grievances for timely redressal and also extended their gratitude to administration for listening to their issues at their door steps.
Officers responded on spot to the queries and issues raised by people in presence of the DC. Various issues of immediate nature were also redressed on spot.
Responding to the demand of development and widening of playfields, the DC directed ACD and BDO to start work on playfields immediately. He also directed the officers of R&B, PMGSY and other agencies to set momentum to developmental works in these areas.
Ex. Engineer R&B was directed to ensure widening of Redwani Bridge to facilitate smooth traffic movement in the area.
PHE officers were directed to make filtration plant at Qaimoo fully functional within days to augment water supply scenario in the area.
The DC also directed the concerned officers of I&FC to ensure de-silting of Mav khul at an earliest.
It was also informed on the occasion that hospital building at Qaimoo will get completed soon.
While addressing the gathering, Dr Bilal said that listening to the public issues and grievances for their timely redressal is priority of administration.
He added that involving people is imperative for proper implementation of various schemes including programmes like Jal Jeevan Mission as they possess in depth knowledge of their areas.
DDC, BDC members besides officers including ADC, ACR, ACD, ACP, Executive Engineers from various executing agencies, CMO, CEO, CAO, CHO, BDO, Tehsildar and other officers from police administration were present on the occasion.
Moreover, Block Diwas functions were also held at D.H.Pora and Devsar blocks, where officers listened to issues, grievances of public for their timely redressal.
