NEW DELHI: Global Trump Foundation & Image Planet confers www.PashminaGoatProject.com with the Social Impact Start-Up Award 2021 for outstanding performance and excellent contribution with undisputed commitment through it’s small sustainable work in the field of preservation and promotion of Sustainable, Organic, Conscious, 100% Handmade and Authentic Pashmina Shawls and Scarves and livelihood promotion of communities linked to the authentic Pashmina eco-system on India. The Start-Up has an equal representation of Women and Men and the project is uniquely integrated with creating global awareness, sensitization and delivery of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals including No Poverty, Good Health and Well being, Reduced Inequalities and Climate Action.
The Co-Founder of the initiative Dr. Henna Anjum who is a Social Entrepreneur from Jammu and Kashmir and is championing the cause of the community, received the award for her the passion for Pashmina, fighting for the rights of the community and research in the field. Her work and journey has made this initiative one of world’s most influential Pashmina platform today. Down-to-earth, fun-loving and widely-liked for their friendly ways, the founders who are the key people for the Pashmina Eco-System of India, spoke on what inspired them. The journey of one of the Co-Founder, Babar over the years to become a Pashmina Shepherd and become one amongst the community in Himalayas is a story of purpose in itself. The founders gave their views on J&K’s economy ecosystem, long term peace and other dynamics for the coming years and how the foundation of New Kashmir by the present Government, empowering youngsters to think global. The award was presented to the start-up with regard to the contribution towards building peace through economics and social justice. The other Co-Founder, Dr. Babar has been quoted as one of the most credible voice of authentic Pashmina in the world and has been conferred with many national and international awards and fellowships. His work and inspirational journey from Silicon Valley to herding goats in Indian Himalayas has been profiled by TIME Magazine, BBC, CNN, Bloomberg and many international newspapers, magazines and journals.
