Animal Husbandry Department Jammu organizes Farmers Awareness Camps

Jammu, Jan 5: In a bid to create awareness amongst farmers about the various schemes and programmes run by the Animal Husbandry department Jammu, Awareness Camps were organized at Chilla Block Nagrota and Dansoo Block Dansal villages of district Jammu. As per the directions from the worthy Director Animal Husbandry Jammu Dr. Sagar D. Doifode (IAS) regarding the need for generating mass awareness about the departmental schemes in the interiors of the rural areas, these camps were organized by the team of Extension and Publicity Wing of the department in cooperation with the local PRI members and other prominent persons Speaking on the occasion at village Chilla, the Extension Officer Dr. Vinay Kumar said that the Animal Husbandry department Jammu is working on a mission mode for promoting the dairy on scientific lines. He further said that the department has launched various welfare schemes aimed at increasing the milk production in the region but to avail maximum benefits out of these schemes a farmer first needs to be aware about those schemes and that’s why these awareness camps are being organized. At Dansoo awareness camp the Extension Officer stressed upon the rural youths including women to come forward and avail benefits to establish new dairy and poultry units by availing subsidy under the departmental schemes in vogue and set an example for others to follow by becoming employment providers. Application forms for applying under different departmental schemes viz Integrated Dairy Development Scheme, Integrated Poultry Development Programme, Feed and Fodder Development Scheme etc were also provided on spot to the farmers present in the camps.
