Takes stock of Health services, Snow clearance
KUPWARA, JANUARY 5: The Deputy Commissioner (DC) Kupwara, Imam Din today visited District Hospital Handwara and Sub District Hospital (SDH) Kupwara and took stock of the health services, snow clearance. He was accompanied by concerned officers of Administration.
The DC visited the District Hospital Handwara and inspected various sections of the hospital including OPD, IPD, Emergency, Gynea, Casualty, CT Scan and other wards. He interacted with doctors and patients and enquired about the health services being provided by the Hospital administration.
The DC was accompanied by President Municipal Committee Handwara, Masroor Banday; ASP Handwara, Medical Superintendent District Hospital and other concerned Officers.
He inspected the duty roster of doctors and directed the Medical Superintendent to ensure uninterrupted and hassle free medical services to the patients.
The DC also visited SDH Kupwara and inspected various sections of the hospital including Gynae, OPD, IPD, Female ward etc. He interacted with doctors and patients and enquired about the health services being provided by the hospital. He also inspected the duty roster of doctors and other staff of the hospital.
While inspecting various markets in Kupwara, Handwara and other towns, DC directed concerned Tehsildars and Executive Officers of Municipal Committees to closely monitor that all supplies and essential commodities are available in the market and also keep check on profiteering and black marketing.
While reviewing the Snow clearance measures in the district, the DC was informed that snow has been cleared from all major roads and traffic is plying normally on Kupwara-Handwara; Kupwara-Sopore; Kupwara-Chowkibal; Kupwara-Lolab; Kupwara-Kalaroose; Kupwara-Vilgam; Handwara-Zachaldara; Handwara-Langate; Kupwara-Hyhama and other such routes.
AEE Mechanical informed that 15 machines are available with the Mechanical department which include 13 snow clearance machines, 1 dozer and 1 backhoe loader (JCB).
Likewise, electricity is being restored in the Towns and urban areas of the district.
All supplies including power, water, and road connectivity to all hospitals, government offices and emergency establishments have been restored fully.
Earlier, during the day, on the directions of Deputy Commissioner Kupwara, ADC Kupwara, Ghulam Nabi Bhat; sub divisional magistrates of Karnah and Lolab and concerned Tehsildars inspected the respective areas to monitor the snow clearance operation.
Meanwhile, traffic movement on border roads of Karnah, Keran and Machil has already been restricted to prevent any untoward incident due to snowfall.
