Thanks AHD for facilitating establishment of Dairy unit
JAMMU, FEBRUARY 03: A Dairy Farmer of Bhalwal area welcomed the herd of newly bought Cows with drum beats to express his joy over their arrival and up-gradation of his dairy Unit under the Government’s Integrated Dairy Development Scheme(IDDS)
The family played rhythmic beats on Dhol (a traditional musical instrument) to express their joy at the arrival of new cattle heads.
Ashiq Ali, the young dairy farmer had bought 15 dairy cows of elite breed from Lakhanpur Pashumandi on January 30 under the Integrated Dairy Development Scheme being implemented by the Animal Husbandry Department Jammu.
He said that the cattle heads are a source of regular income for him as he sells the cow milk and uses the dung for agriculture to get maximum harvest.
“As a mark of respect and gratitude, I celebrated their arrival into my farm by playing Dhol beats” he said. He further said that by this gesture he wanted to give a message to the farmers to take due care of their animals and be compassionate towards them
The farmers’ affection towards his cattle caught everyone’s attention in the village.
Acknowledging the proactive and hassle free support of the Department of Animal Husbandry Jammu, he said that coming from a cattle rearing background, he can see that the level of attention being given to this sector in present times was never seen before. He said there are a lot of incentives available for the dairy farmers under different welfare schemes being implemented by the Department of Animal Husbandry Jammu.
