Team collect Food Samples for quality check

3 each awareness & training camps hosted for FBOs

DODA, FEBRUARY 17:  The Food Safety & Drugs Control Organization has launched a Mobile Food Testing Van to collect food samples for quality test and spread awareness among the stakeholders at all levels.

In pursuance to the directions of Commissioner FDA J&K and under the guidance of DC Doda and support of ADC Doda (Adjudicating Officer FSSA) Department of Food Safety & Drugs Control Organization District Doda, a team of FSSA led by Assistant Commissioner Food Safety District Doda, Taraq Ahmad Butt initiated the Food Testing on wheels of various categories of food items in the District from February 16, 2022.

On the first day, a vigorous random sampling was done at Headquarter township Doda. The food items sampled include non alcoholic beverages, spices, Sweets, bakery products, pulses, Milk packed & loose mineral water, Fruit Drinks, Edible oils, Ghee, ionized salt (particularly TATA salt) etc.

Till date, maximum categories have been covered, and many samples were tested and found satisfactory.

During this campaign, 03 awareness camps and 03 training camps were also organized for the food business operators and consumers.

Meanwhile, 6 RUCO digital tests of cooking oil were done on the spot and all tests found satisfactory and within the range of indexes. It is pertinent to mention that this campaign will continue in the future with monthly repetition with the aim of providing safe and quality food to the consumers.
