Asks youth to avail opportunities of government’s self-employment schemes
KUPWARA, APRIL 04: The Deputy Commissioner (DC) Kupwara, Imam Din Monday urged the unemployed youth of the district to take advantage of government schemes envisaged for self-employment generation in the district.
The DC was addressing a certificate distribution camp held at Government Higher Secondary School (GHSS) Laderwan today. The camp was organized by the Indian Army.
The DC was chief guest on the occasion. Town Commander Trehgam, Major Sanjay, Colonel 41 RR Naval Gatti, Tehsildar Trehgam and concerned officers were present at the occasion.
Speaking at the occasion, the DC appreciated the agencies which provided the skill training to the girl trainees adding that the skill training will strengthen the roots of women empowerment. He advised the trainees to take advantage of completion of training course and ensure establishment of their own self-employment units.
He said Government is always at the back of unemployed youth adding that the need of the hour is to follow the guidelines given by the Government from time to time for establishment of self-employment units.
On the occasion, the DC distributed Training Certificates among 30 girl trainees who had completed a 35 days retail skilling training course.
Later, the DC inspected the classrooms of the Higher Secondary School and interacted with the students and teaching staff. He also gave a lecture on Environment Science and Urdu and asked the students to become the ambassadors for generation of awareness in their homes and respective localities regarding proper sanitation and discouraging the use of polythene.
