The Chairperson covered over 35 km long stretch of hilly and difficult terrain on foot covering isolated villages viz Jagna (Dhar Jankher), Khadri, Kund, Johl, Bakali, Kentha, Band, Jakhnoo, Deotha & Godal.
The DDC Chairperson was accompanied by DDC Councilor Tajinder Singh Goldy, BDC Chairperson Nisha Thakur; Sarpanch Godal Rajinder Singh and many others.
The Chairperson met with the local residents who apprised him about their problems with regard to the road connectivity, drinking water, electricity infrastructure, issues related to forest clearance, shortage of teachers in schools etc.
The DDC Chairman listened to their problems patiently and assured early resolution of the same. He expressed concern over lack of development of isolated areas due to slackness of the representatives of yesteryears which has resulted in total neglect of the panchayats falling in these difficult and hilly areas.
He asserted that the present dispensation at centre headed by Prime Minister Narendra Modi is fully committed to the development of rural, far flung, hilly regions and was striving hard to improve the socio economic condition of the rural masses.
Earlier, the DDC Chairperson inaugurated a newly constructed Government Ration Sale Depot at Deotha, besides two newly constructed Foot Bridges over Suslad and Talad Nallhas.
While dedicating the newly constructed assets to the public, the DDC Chairperson said that the development in rural areas has been fast paced ever since the three tier PRI system started functioning in Jammu & Kashmir on the principle of participatory development at grassroots level. He said the PRI members are working with full sincerity as the development is being done in line with the popular aspirations of the locals. He also appealed to people to avail benefits under self employment schemes of the government in addition to contemporary farming to en-cash earning opportunities besides providing employment to others.
