Speaking after the launch of the event, the MP said that the Government was fully committed to give impetus to sports activities in J&K. “Necessary measures are being taken to provide potential youth with the best possible platforms where they can showcase their talent” he said.
Highlighting the objective of the Sansad Khel Spardha, the MP said that the initiative aims to groom the young sports talent in the UT by holding a multi-discipline sports competition.
Listing the efforts of the Government towards realizing the dream of a healthy India, he said, "It is the brainchild of the Hon'ble Prime Minister to make India healthy."
He also highlighted the role of sports in the development of an individual. “Sports help an individual much more than in the physical aspects alone as it also help to make the society progressive and harmonious,” he added.
While appreciating the District Administration for taking effective measures to give impetus to sports activities, he advised the officers to keep working with the same zeal to channelise the energies of the youth towards a positive direction so that they can contribute more and more to the development of the nation.
