DC Kathua presides over Block Diwas proceedings at Hiranagar

KATHUA, JUNE 08: To listen and redress the grievances of common masses, Deputy Commissioner Kathua, Rahul Pandey today convened a Public Outreach Camp here at Common Facility Centre, Hiranagar under the aegis of weekly block diwas program.

DDC Member Marheen Attri; DDC Member Nagrota Gujjroo, Narayan Dutt Tripathi; BDC Chairman Hiranagar Ram Nath Kalia; Tehsildar Hiranagar, XEN PWD, Chief Medical Officer, Chief Education Officer, Officers of different departments, Panches, Sarpanches and a large number of people attended the meeting.

During the camp, the PRIs projected the issues of public importance and sought immediate redress of the same.

The prominent demands projected by the locals included provision of an X- ray machine at Veterinary Hospital Hiranagar, bus service for industrial workers of border areas, improvement of sanitation, electricity and drinking water facilities in Hiranagar and adjoining panchayats. The demand of bunkers for the left out families, restoration of construction work of Sports Stadium Kootah, shifting of Patwarkhana to Kootah, payment of pending installation of solar pumps in Haripur Patil Panchayat were among other issues projected by the people during the proceedings of block diwas.

After giving a patient hearing, the DC directed departments to ensure on spot resolution of the grievances raised by the people.

Speaking on the occasion, the Deputy Commissioner, Rahul Pandey stressed upon the officers to take effective measures to resolve the problems related to water and electricity. He said that a control room will be established very soon for resolving the issues related to electricity and drinking water. He said that all the issues raised by the people will be taken up on priority basis.

The Department of Social Welfare and ICDS set up stalls at the venue of Public Outreach Camp to inform the people about their schemes and programmes, while the Health department registered beneficiaries under Ayushman Bharat health insurance scheme.

Similarly, Block Diwas proceedings were also held at Basohli and Bani sub divisions.
