Food Safety Department Budgam celebrates ‘World Food Safety Day’

BUDGAM, JUNE 07: To commemorate ‘World Food Safety Day’ celebrated across the world on 7th June every year, the Food Safety Department Budgam today organized an awareness programme on Food Safety at Government Girls Higher Secondary School, Budgam.

The theme of the event was ‘Safer Food, Better Health’. World Food Safety Day aims to transform food systems to deliver better health sustainably and prevent food borne diseases. This day also provides an opportunity to strengthen efforts to ensure that the food we eat is safe and reduce the burden of food borne illnesses globally.

During the programme, awareness was imparted to the students on various dimensions of food safety.

The Department of Food Safety (Drug and Food control Organization J&K UT) launched a campaign to inspire students to have knowledge on safe food and better health concepts.

The programme was attended by Yameen ul Nabi, Designated Officer Food Budgam, Principal Govt Girls Hr. Secondary schools Budgam, Umar Mufti Food Analyst Kashmir and Food Safety Officers of Budgam.

The program witnessed huge participation of girl students who enthusiastically listened to all speakers deliberating upon the significance of food safety for better health.
