Tourism Development asked to hold Yoga sessions at major tourist destinations
JAMMU, JUNE 06: Divisional Commissioner Jammu, Ramesh Kumar today chaired a meeting of Deputy Commissioners and concerned officers to review the arrangements for organizing different events on the International Yoga Day celebrated annually on June 21.
Commissioner JMC, Rahul Yadav; Deputy Commissioner Reasi, Babila Rakwal; Joint Director School Education, senior functionaries of Yog Sansthan besides senior officers of ISM, AYUSH, JMC, Health and other concerned attended the meeting in person, while other Deputy Commissioners of Jammu division along with other concerned officers participated through video conferencing.
The Divisional Commissioner directed district administrations to ensure maximum participation of people in the mega Yoga Day sessions to be organized by the Ministry of AYUSH for raising awareness among the people about the benefits of Yoga.
The Div Com instructed the Deputy Commissioners to hold a meeting with concerned officers and review the arrangements. He also asked them to call AYUSH Officers and seek the schedule for holding the Iconic Yoga Sessions and give wide publicity to the same to attract the general public.
The Tourism Development was asked to organise special Yoga sessions at Patnitop, Mansar, Sanasar, Bhaderwah etc to attract the visitors.
He also directed DCs to ensure participation of Mission Youth, Self Help Groups, NRLM, ASHA workers in the Yoga sessions.
The Div Com asked the DCs to identify suitable venues for organizing events on Yoga Day. He instructed them to ensure cleanliness, drinking water facility, team of doctors, ambulance, security arrangements, parking facilities at all the venues.
The concerned departments were also asked to ensure drinking water facility at the venue, while JMC and MCs were directed to ensure cleanliness in and around the venues.
The School Education department was asked to ensure participation of students besides exploring possibilities of encouraging their participation through online mode as well.
