Lead Bank Office Poonch organises credit outreach program

POONCH, JUNE 09: To celebrate the Iconic Week activities under the “AZADI KA AMRIT MAHOTSAV” (AKAM), Lead Bank Office Poonch organised a credit outreach programme here at Dak Bunglow.

Chairperson District Development Council Poonch, Tazeem Akhter was the Chief Guest.

 In his welcome speech, the Lead Bank Manager   informed the house that there are 9 banks with 51   branches functioning in the District.

The total deposits with the Banks in the District as on March 31, 2022 stood at Rs.3377.37 Cr., while the banks recorded advances of Rs.1622.50 Cr.

A net increase of Rs. 108.71 Cr in deposits & Rs. 258.47 Cr. in advances was recorded against the corresponding year. “In addition to the bank branches we have 73 numbers of BC’s/CSC centres functioning in the District providing banking facilities in the far flung areas of the district,” he said.

The Credit to Deposits ratio (CD Ratio) of the District as on March 31, 2022 stood at 48.04% which was at 41.73% on March 31, 2021 thus registering a positive growth.

Elaborating the achievements of the District under Annual Credit Plan (ACP), he said the District has achieved 123% of the total ACP i.e. the district stood at Rs. 776.62 Cr as on March 31, 2022 against the target of Rs. 633.89 Cr.

He further said that the achievement in the district  under Priority Sector were recorded at 75% ( i.e against target of Rs. 497.70 Cr, the achievement is Rs. 373.66 Cr) thus ranked no. 3 in the entire UT.

Similarly, district recorded 80 % achievement under agriculture sector (against target of Rs. 191.22 Cr achievement is at Rs. 152.62 Cr) thus ranked no. 1 in the entire UT.

 Under various self employment schemes Banks in the District has disbursed an amount of Rs. 41.74 Cr amongst 1279 beneficiaries to set up their own ventures & providing employment to about 3100 unemployed youths during the FY (2021-22).

FLCC Rakesh Sudan, highlighted the Govt. Sponsored Schemes & Social Security schemes thoroughly.

Director RSETI Poonch also highlighted the programs run by the Institute and its role  in helping  the rural masses in getting skill oriented trainings.

Regional Manager Grameen Bank also highlighted the schemes meant for providing self sustainable employment to the youth.

General Mangar DIC Dr. Zakir  appreciated the role of banks in eradicating the unemployment and providing the handholding to unemployed youths by way of facilitating  them in the shape of bank loans.

ADDC Poonch Abdul Sattar also threw light on this programme and appreciated the work done by banks in the District under self Employment Schemes for achieving the target set for FY(2021-22). He further advised the bankers to keep up the pace not only to achieve the targets but surpass the   same for this financial year.

Chief Guest Chairperson, DDC Poonch appreciated the banks for achieving the ACP targets and standing at position 1 & 3 in different segments. She stressed that more and more people should come forward to avail benefits of different schemes launched by central/U.T governments for generating self employment. She further advised the banks & line departments to create more awareness in the far flung areas of the district so that the benefits of these schemes should reach the needy persons.

Chief Guest handed over 29 sanction letters to prospective beneficiaries from different Banks under various credit schemes & also distributed participation certificates to 14 trainees of JKB RSETI. Grameen Bank has also felicitated his officer for best performance.

LDM thanked the participants for making this programme a grand success.
