Two days Musical Event in memory of Late Pt. Shiv Kumar Sharma held at GDCs of Anantnag

ANANTNAG, JUNE 11: The Government Degree College (GDC) Ananntnag organized a two day Musical Event in memory of Late Pt. Shiv Kumar Sharma (Renoved Santoor Player Son of Soil) in colloboration with GDC for Women, SPIC MACAY society for the promotion of Indian Classical Music and culture.

The programme was organized at both the venues viz. GDC Anantnag and Govt. Degree College for Women Anantnag on 9th and 10th June.

The programme was hosted by the college students of the respective colleges on both the days and the guests performers and audiences were welcomed  by the principal Prof Muzaffar Ahmad Bhat  and Dr. Irfan-ul-Majid of the respective colleges on 9th June.

Takahiro Arai, a disciple of Lt.Shiv Kumar Sharma played tribute to his Guru by playing Santoor and Kashmiri Artists Gulzar Ganie performed Kashmiri Folk Songs at both the venues.

On 10th June, a renoved artist Shekhawat Hussain entertained the audiences with urdu Gazals while as the Kashmiri Artist Dr.Shazia Hameed Baba sung Kashmiri Gazals.

Programme concluded with a vote of thanks to organizers, guests, performers and audiences.
