UDHAMPUR, JUNE 06: Heritage Club of Government College for Women Udhampur in collaboration with Red Ribbon Club and NSS Unit today concluded the week long activities organised to mark the World Environment Day.

Prof. (Dr.)Monika Sharma, Principal of the College was chief Guest at the Valedictory event.

Speaking on the occasion, the Principal of the college stressed upon the role of students and faculty members in conservation and promotion of remedial activities to resolve environmental issues and concerns.

 A series of activities were conducted on the College campus and outside on the theme “Each one teach one” about cautiousness. A large number of students participated in different activities ranging from lecture on yoga and wellness, cleanliness drive of river Devika, cycling rally to plantation drive, awareness of waste management and promotion of best out of waste concept.

All the activities were performed and coordinated under the convenership of Heritage club GCW Udhampur in collaboration with NSS Unit, Red Ribbon Club, Department of Physical Education.

The Principal applauded the efforts of the Convener and members of Heritage Club (Prof. Yash Paul, HOD History), NSS Programme Officer (Prof. Sanjay Kumar, HOD Philosophy), Convener Red Ribbon Club (Dr. Kewal Kumar, AP Botany), Director Physical Education (Dr. Dinesh Kumar PTI).

The other members who played pro active role during week long programme for creating awareness among the student community regarding environment issues were Dr. Sumit Kumar,  Dr. Meena Gupta, Prof. Rajinder Singh, Prof. Yash Kumar and Prof. Sanjay Kumar. The entire programme was coordinated under able guidance of Dr. Mool Raj, HOD Urdu.
