Reiterates his appeal to parents not to allow their wards to venture around Nallahs, Ponds, Irrigation Storage Tanks

KUPWARA, JULY 12:  The dead body of Wani Dorusa youth who drowned yesterday in an irrigation storage tank was retrieved today after persistent efforts of District Administration and rescue teams.

 The Deputy Commissioner (DC), Kupwara, Khalid Jahangir expressed his grief and sorrow over the sad demise of the youth namely Aqib Ahmad Dar son of Mohammad Ishaq Dar of Bhat Mohallah Wani Dorusa.

 The rescue operation was supervised by SDM Lolab, in which the Officers/ officials of Revenue, Irrigation & Flood Control departments and SDRF, police, Army, Fire & Emergency service made all possible efforts to fish out the body.

Khalid Jahangir appreciated the role of officers and officials with whose tireless efforts the body was fished out. He also thanked MARCOS who had reached the spot from Watlab Bandipora to assist the rescue operation, though the body was fished out before the team reached.  

The DC also appreciated the efforts of local RR Unit.

Meanwhile, the DC has once again reiterated his appeal to  parents not to allow their wards to venture around Nallahs, Ponds, Irrigation Storage Tanks and waterbodies.
