GDC Kunjwani Organises a Lecture on Cyber Crime and Safety

JAMMU: Cyber Security Cell of GDC Kunjwani under the aegis of Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav organized a lecture on “Cyber Crime & Safety” on 6th of July, 2022 to celebrate ‘Cyber Jagrookta Diwas’. The programme was  organized under the patronage of worthy Principal, Prof. Hans Raj. Inspector Manoj Gupta, In charge Fraud Unit, Cyber Police Station, Jammu was the resource person of the programme.

Speaking on the occasion, Principal, Prof. Hans Raj expressed his concern about the increasing cyber crimes in the society. He said that in the digital age our virtual identities are essential elements of everyday life and we are a bundle of identifiers in multiple computer databases owned by governments and corporations. Cyber crime highlights the centrality of networked computers in our lives as well as the fragility of such seemingly solid facts as individual identity. He stressed upon taking the safety measures to either avoid or combat it.

Resource person Manoj Gupta discussed various common cyber crimes and mentioned preventive tips to avert cyber frauds. He emphasised on not sharing Bank Account Number, Aadhar No. etc in  contact list. He mentioned social media related frauds and shared tips on cyber security.

The event was coordinated by Dr. Rohini Jamwal. The technical support was provided by Prof. Deepa Sharma and Mr. Narinder Paul Sharma. The event was anchored by Dr. Neeru Sharma. Dr. Manjeet Singh presented formal vote of thanks. Prof. P.K. Amla, Prof. Baljinder Kour, Dr. Bhavana Sharma, Prof. Bushra Nizami, Dr. Ashaq Hussain,  Prof. Shafquat were present during the lecture.
