Kargil war hero Gurdeep Singh Soni remembered in Ramgarh
VIJAYPUR, JULY 06, 2022: Apni Party Provincial President, Jammu and Ex-Minister,Manjit Singh today appealed to the Govt to include lessons on bravery hearts who lay
down their lives in the defence of the country.
The Former Minister was addressing a gathering at village Palota in Ramgarh of Samba
District. On this occasion, a programme was organized in memory of Gurdeep Singh
Soni of 8 Sikh Regiment on his 23rd martyrdom. He had sacrificed his life during the
Indo-Pak Kargil war in 1999.
Remembering the youngest martyr of the 8th Sikh Regiment, the Former Minister said
that his sacrifice will be remembered and the youth must be made aware about the
sacrifices being made by the soldiers in the defence of the country.
He said that the young generation will get to know about their sacrifices when it is
taught in the textbooks at the school level. "The school teaching will discipline the future
generation as well as attract the youth towards the defence forces," he said. He lauded
the role of defence forces.
Similarly, Provincial Vice President, Jammu, and Ex-MLA Faqir Nath also addressed the
gathering and said that the youth should follow the footsteps of the martyrs and they
sacrifice their lives for the defence of the country.
Meanwhile, Ex-MLC and BJP Leader Vikram Randhawa also spoke on the occasion
and garlanded the statue of the martyr soldier. In his address, he said that the country's
defence forces are the backbone and their contribution will always be remembered.
The occasion was attended by the Apni Party Provincial Secretary Dr Rohit Gupta,
President, Apni Trade Union, Ajaz Kazmi, besides prominent people of area, PRIs,
serving and ex-servicemen also offered their tributes to the martyred soldier. Earlier,
Indian Army also offered guard of honour to the martyr soldier.
