RAJOURI, JULY 08: District Development Commissioner, Vikas Kundal chaired a meeting of the District Level Screening Committee to approve the cases of eligible women beneficiaries under the Restructured State Marriage Assistance Scheme today.
The committee after examination and detailed deliberations approved 52 cases unanimously.
Pertinently, the government has brought some changes in the SMAS and as per the changes in the scheme, any girl of legally marriageable age, belonging to AAY or PHH ration card-holder families, would be eligible for one-time assistance of Rs 50 thousand. The help would be given before her marriage, for which she has to apply at least a month in advance.
The Deputy Commissioner has also stressed giving wide publicity to the scheme and motivating the eligible girls to avail benefits of the scheme.
Among others, DSWO, Wakeel Ahmed Bhatt; AD FCS&CA, Arief Lone and other concerned officers were present in the meeting.
