RAMGARH: The BPL families of the district living below the poverty line have been deprived of the benefits of the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana for far too long. Despite the central and state governments’ tall promises of expanding the scheme, the reality on the ground remains stark. During the winter season, these poor people have become so helpless that they have to resort to tarpaulin to avoid the cold and rain. The BJP government's promise of providing a pucca house to every poor person by 2022 has also proven to be an empty promise. Former minister and state chairman of AAP party, SC ST wing, Yashpal Kundal expressed his concerns regarding this injustice while addressing a public meeting in Tarindian village of Ramgarh.
Aam Aadmi Party workers organized a public meeting in
Tarindian village of Ramgarh, in which including former minister Kundal, Appu
Salathia, Mohan Lal, Himant Singh Bhatti, Rakesh, Ved Prakash and other leaders
also participated. In his address, Kundal said that today the state government
is putting up government land boards at every place. The lands on which people were raising their
families by farming since independence, today those same people are being
evicted from their lands. Which Aam Aadmi Party will not tolerate. Kundal said
that we will not allow injustice to happen to the people and if needed, will
come on the streets for the people. In the public meeting, people put other
issues in front of Kundal including not getting the benefit of the housing
scheme. A poor family who had come to the public meeting, while narrating their
sorrows, urged Kundal to come to their residence and see the condition of the
house.
On the request of the family, AAP leader Yashpal Kundal went to the family's house. Everyone was shocked to see the bad condition of the house. Even in this cold and winter season, that family was living under a tarpaulin, who were only cheated in the name of Pm Aawas scheme. After inspecting the house of the poor family, Kundal said that he would soon meet DC Samba regarding these issues and those who are deprived of the housing scheme would get their rights.
