JAMMU: The biography of Sh. T.R. Gupta, a prominent entrepreneur, philanthropist, and social reformer, was released by Divisional Commissioner Jammu, Sh. Ramesh Kumar, IAS, and Commissioner Jammu Municipal Corporation, Sh. Rahul Yadav, IAS. This event was organized by Jammu Public Opinion Forum, conceptualized by CA. R.K. Gupta, Sh. Yash Pal Gupta, Sh. Rajendra Motial, and Sh. Kailash K. Langar.
During his welcome speech, CA R.K. Gupta expressed that this forum's function is the first of its kind and will continue to honor achievers from Jammu and Kashmir. The forum aims to serve as a bridge between the administration and the public, regardless of caste, creed, trade, or industry, federation or association, to ensure that the opinions, suggestions, desires, and thoughts of the public are conveyed respectfully. Mr. Gupta also emphasized the option for people of Jammu to contribute to the Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Charitable Society, a registered organization under the Ministry of Corporate Affairs, for corporate social responsibility (CSR) activities. This society was established during Sh. Ramesh Kumar's tenure as CEO, overseeing the University, Super Specialty Hospital, Nursing College, Guru Kul, and Sports Complex, which are dedicated to education, healthcare, rural sports, including paralympics and Olympic sports.
Sh. Ramesh Kumar, IAS, Divisional Commissioner Jammu, acknowledged the role and contributions of Sh. T.R. Gupta in running his business empire and his philanthropic efforts, including operating a free dispensary and providing assistance to the poor, widows, and orphans, not limited to his own community but for the larger public as well. He expressed gratitude to CA R.K. Gupta and his team for establishing the public opinion forum, which is vital when the administration is dedicated to good governance and prioritizing public welfare.
Sh. Rahul Yadav, IAS, Commissioner Jammu Municipal Corporation and CEO Jammu Smart City Limited, also expressed his appreciation for the forum, as it provides a platform to listen to the public sentiments for furthering societal welfare. He congratulated Sh. T.R. Gupta for establishing the T.R. Gupta Charitable Trust, dedicated to helping the underprivileged.
Dr. Nirmal Vinod presented a citation about Sh. T.R. Gupta, which was read by the Forum. Sh. Rajendra Motial provided an overview of Sh. T.R. Gupta's biography, highlighting his journey from a small village, living in poverty, to becoming a successful entrepreneur and evolving into a social activist and mentor for others to follow.
Sh. Yash Pal Gupta conveyed a vote of thanks, expressing gratitude to all the dignitaries, prominent citizens, press, media, and particularly Sh. Sunil Mahajan, son of Late Sh. Om Parkash Mahajan, who served as the inspiration behind the book on the life of Sh. T.R. Gupta.
