Qazigund, July 1, 2023
— The first batch of 3488 pilgrims for the Amarnath Yatra reached Qazigund in Jammu and Kashmir on Friday morning. The pilgrims were welcomed by officials and security personnel at the transit camp in Qazigund.

The pilgrims were welcomed by Deputy Commissioner Kulgam, Bilal Mohi-Ud-Din Bhat, Deputy Inspector General of Police south Kashmir Rayees Mohammad Bhat, Superintendent of Police Kulgam, Sahil Sarangal and PRI’s near Nayvuga tunnel Qazigund.

The pilgrims, who had started their journey from Jammu on Thursday, will now proceed to the Pahalgam base camp, the starting point of the yatra. The yatra will begin on July 1 and will conclude on August 31.
