NEW DELHI, JULY 30, 2023: The Income Tax Department (ITD) has received over 6 crore income tax returns (ITRs) for the financial year 2022-23, as of July 30, 2023. Of these, about 26.76 lakh ITRs were filed on July 30 alone.
The ITD has also seen more than 1.30 crore successful logins on the e-filing portal till 6.30 pm on July 30.
To assist taxpayers with ITR filing, tax payment, and other related services, the ITD’s helpdesk is functioning on a 24×7 basis. Taxpayers can avail of support through calls, live chats, WebEx sessions, and social media.
The ITD has urged taxpayers who have not yet filed their ITR for AY 2023-24 to do so at the earliest to avoid last-minute rush.
