ANANTNAG, JULY 26: The Govt. Degree College (GDC) Qazigund in collaboration with 163 Battalion CRPF Qazigund, J&K Wednesday organized a plantation drive within the college campus, here.
The plantation drive was kick-started by the Principal of the College, Prof. G.R. Verma along with Second In-charge Commandant 163 Battalion CRPF Virendra Kumar, Prof. Mohd Maqbool Pala, Prof. Showkat Ahmad Malik by planting some medicinal plants.
Thereafter faculty members, students and CRPF personnel planted different medicinal and other plants within the campus to make the campus eco-friendly, beautifying its landscape and for various medicinal uses.
The college dedicated a patch of land within the campus wherein various medicinal plants were planted by the faculty and students with great enthusiasm keeping in view their utility and significance for survival and maintaining ecological balance.
The plantation drive was followed by an interaction cum counseling session, conducted by the female Medical officer Dr. Prajitha from 163 Battalion CRPF with the female students of the college.
The students were sensitized about the different opportunities and challenges in the contemporary era and the remedies thereof.
A question answer session was also held wherein different queries of the students were answered by the officer. The students got highly benefited by the session.
